At an event in Los Angeles in 2023, Dern spoke about the role Witherspoon plays in her life. “I run everything by her. Like everything. I mean, from work to love, I always go to Reese,” Dern said. “I’m like, ‘What do you think of this guy? What do you think of this job?’”

She added, “I mean, honestly, that’s a gift we get to share. But that’s also who she is. Like, she just brings everyone in and makes them feel heard.”
They have also collaborated on projects through Witherspoon’s company Hello Sunshine and hosted casual gatherings like barbecues for friends and colleagues.
